The countdown to PE Showcase has begun, and there are only a few days left to register for this annual networking and educational event. From December 6th - December 9th, training, demonstrations, and valuable industry presentations will take place at the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center in Grapevine, Texas. Deep Dive sessions (targeted to newer PE employees with <5 years’ experience) will be held Monday and Tuesday. Pennsylvania Invests in Lead-Free Infrastructure
Governor Wolf of Pennsylvania has announced last month the investment of $186 million for water projects across 20 PA counties, through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST.) This is toward fulfillment of “PENNVEST[‘s] … mission of providing resources for clean water across the commonwealth,” which has seen over $10 billion investment over the past three decades, according to the governor. The common goals of these projects are replacement of aging infrastructure, protecting the public from lead exposure through water systems, and reducing water loss through leakage and breaks. Among the counties dedicated to replacing cast iron water piping systems for drinking water with plastic piping are Armstrong, Clarion, and Crawford counties. Several other counties are also targeted for wastewater projects and non-point source water quality improvement projects.
