New Plastic Piping Systems Standard Will Aid Fluid Transport
New Plastic Piping Systems Standard Will Aid Fluid Transport
ASTM International’s plastic piping systems committee has approved a new standard that will help the manufacture of piping systems to transfer both liquids and gases. Businesses that are in need of a corrosion-resistant piping system for transporting high amounts of fluids would find ASTM’s new standard useful. Fluids that can be carried through these pipes are water, hydrocarbons such as crude oil and mixed phase fluids; oil field process water; brine; and harsh chemicals. In keeping with the new standard for crosslinkable polyethylene pipe, the following will be used by:
● Piping manufacturers and distributors
● Oil and gas producers
● Pipeline operators and installers
● Engineering design firms
● State and federal regulatory agencies
● Industrial manufacturing companies, including pulp and paper manufacturers
● Chemical process industry manufacturers
● Municipal utilities for water treatment facilities
