New Life for Plastic Pipeline Scrap
Tom Canellos and Graham Waller have come together at Enbridge Gas to better the environment and create value from waste. Back in 2019 these men were working together and came across a great deal of plastic polyethylene pipe was thrown out in the garbage. Within the next two years Canellos and Waller learned everything one needs to know about recycling high-density polyethylene plastic, they then built their network and came up with a new way of disposing of plastic pipe. Because of these two men, scrap plastic pipelines are now stripped and ground into small pellets, a valued commodity for a large variety of companies that extrude plastic products. These recycled materials are mainly used as a building material. Their project has helped reduce the cost of transporting waste in addition to lowering the impact of the business’s operations on the environment.
